Vecchia Ferrovia Krabesalm

This challenging 61.3 km tour with 1,500 metres of elevation gain first takes you from Kurtinig along the Etschtal cycle path past Neumarkt. Before Auer you leave the Etschtal cycle path and via the Castelfeder biotope you reach Pinzon and immediately afterwards the start of the old Fleimstal railway line ("Vecchia Ferrovia"). Climbing steadily uphill, you pass Kaltenbrunn and the San Lugano Pass. After the San Lugano Pass, you have to pedal hard again: After 8 kilometres with gradients of up to 20% in places, you reach the Krabesalm. Downhill across alpine meadows and forest, you reach Truden in the Trudner Horn Nature Park, where the views are always fantastic. In Neumarkt you have reached the bottom of the valley again. Enjoy an aperitivo under Neumarkt's arcades before cycling back to the Hotel Teutschhaus via the Etschtal cycle path. The route includes steep climbs and requires you to push your bike in places. Suitable for experienced gravel bikers in very good physical condition.
