Schwarzensee circular route
Gravel bike tour from Fuschl am See / SalzburgerLand / Austria
Schwarzensee circular route
The Schwarzensee circular route is a challenging but fantastic gravel bike tour over 55.6 kilometres with 1,150 metres of elevation gain. The route combines long, easy climbs with relaxed passages along lakes and offers magnificent views throughout. The tour begins on a well-maintained forest road up to the Eisenaueralm, from where you can see as far as Lake Mondsee. The route continues towards Schwarzensee, a hidden jewel of the Salzkammergut. A secluded spot on the shore is particularly romantic, with a narrow path leading to it - perfect for a short break in the midst of nature. After rounding Lake Schwarzensee, the route runs along the cycle path on Lake Wolfgangsee, which is characterised by varied sections between the shore and forest. Shortly before the finish, St. Gilgen with its historic town centre, Mozart reference and the Zwölferhorn cable car invites you to take a final break.
