Montiggl Lakes

This 55 km tour with 770 metres of ascent leads through the picturesque vineyards of South Tyrol. First you cycle through the surrounding orchards and vineyards and then along the wine route past Kurtatsch and Tramin. After 14 kilometres you have already reached Lake Kaltern and via the Frühlingstal valley and through the extensive Montiggl forest you reach the Montiggl lakes. An alternative route through the Monticolo/Montiggler forest takes you to the Kreither Sattel, colloquially known as the "Coyote Pass". You cycle past the Leimburg experimental centre in Pfatten before changing to the Etschtal Valley cycle path and cycling back to Teutschhaus. The route runs along gravel paths and tarmac side roads. Some sections require you to push your bike. Ideal for experienced gravel bikers in good physical condition.
