Graun - Kaltern - Montiggl

This 62 km long tour with 1,100 metres of altitude difference first takes you along the wine route to the wine village of Margreid and via Kurtatsch to Graun. Between Kurtatsch and Graun you cover the most metres in altitude on this tour with approx. 465 metres. Enjoy the fantastic view of the valley from the Lenzenhof! You reach Kaltern via various forest paths downhill. Enjoy an aperitivo on the market square before continuing along the Kaltern cycle path to the Monticolo/Montiggler lakes. They are among the most beautiful bathing lakes in South Tyrol. The tour continues through deciduous forests along the Mittelberg before reaching the vineyards at the bottom of the valley shortly before Lake Kaltern. At Ora you change to the Adige Valley cycle path back to the Hotel Teutschhaus. The route offers impressive views of Lake Kaltern and runs along a variety of paths, including gravel and forest tracks. Some sections are closed to cyclists and require you to push your bike. A challenging tour for experienced gravel bikers.
