An adventure between small and large lakes, the town of Spittal with the legendary Porcia Castle, the multi-award-winning Drau cycle path and a crisp climb up the Glanz. Gravel friend, what more could you want?

From Feld am See, the tour takes us on tarmac to the end of Radenthein, where we change to the Millstättersee cycle path. We leave the traffic behind us and soon we are cycling along the picturesque shores of Carinthia's deepest lake, with secluded bays and beautiful views all the way to Seeboden. Now the busy Lieserschlucht gorge awaits us for a few kilometres before we reach the legendary Porcia Castle in Spittal. The castle is still said to be haunted and ghost hunters come and go. We enjoy a cappuccino in the castle garden and then cycle on to the start of the Drau cycle path.

Suddenly it's quiet around us again and we pedal along the striking Drau river without any metres in altitude through forests and meadows towards Villach. In Kellerberg an der Drau, we say goodbye to the award-winning cycle path and take on the steep challenge of the Glanz. The route climbs steeply towards Tscheuritsch - with a gradient of 15%, there is not much to miss. The route takes us onto a beautiful high plateau through secluded woodland, past well-kept farmhouses to Fresach - a Protestant stronghold in Carinthia. From there we pedal along the lonely crayfish migration route to the go-kart area in the forest and then it's finally downhill again. A racy descent to Lake Millstättersee awaits us before the last 10 kilometres to Feld am See climb slightly again. At the end, a dip in the Brennsee and a cool drink at the Lindenhof footbridge await.
