Frauenalm - Jägersee round

Extensive circular tour from Flachau via the Frauenalm to the idyllic Jägersee lake at the end of the Kleinarl valley. On the way back you pass the reservoir of the Wagrain ski area, with fantastic views of the mountains around Flachau and the Dachstein in the background. The long loop from Flachau via the Frauenalm to the Jägersee offers many highlights and can also be shortened if required. From Flachau you start on the Enns cycle path towards Flachauwinkel and then turn off onto the signposted route to the Frauenalm. The climb is a tough one, but is rewarded with a fantastic view of the Dachstein and, on a clear day, even as far as the Großglockner. After the ascent, the route descends via gravel paths to the Jägersee, an idyllic dammed lake at the end of the valley. After a refreshment stop at the restaurant right by the lake, you roll steadily downhill to Wagrain, where the final ascent to the reservoir lake awaits you. The picture with the lake in the foreground and the Alpine panorama in the background is a perfect finale. From the lake, it's just a few more relaxed kilometres downhill back to Flachau.
