Traminerhof
If you want to explore Tramin off the beaten track on a gravel bike, you are in the best hands with Armin Pomella and his team. The boss of the Traminerhof is a bike pioneer from the very beginning - he and bike guide Davide know every stick and stone of the South Tyrolean gravel bike Eldorado. It's simply a never-ending love story between biking and the Traminerhof. And the location of the cool design hotel on Lake Kaltern on the South Tyrolean Wine Road is also impressive: between vineyards and the lakeshore. Simply a relaxed, uncomplicated place for speeding up & slowing down, biking & relaxing.

Gravel bike expertise
Armin Pomella undertook his first mountain bike tour up Monte Roen over 25 years ago. Back then, it was still somewhat underpowered with a CroMo frame, rim brakes and everything rigid. Hardly a day has gone by since then that Armin hasn't spent on his bike. "After all, we're already biking here when others are still stuck in the snow!"
Gravel bike expertise at the Traminerhof
No matter how wide the studs may be, Armin's local knowledge is worth its weight in gold and his passion for biking is infectious. Together with bike guide Davide, Armin is sometimes on a mountain bike, sometimes on a gravel bike. Six days a week, the two certified bike guides offer guided tours around Tramin - a great way to get to know Tramin from a local's perspective. One or two lifelong friendships have already been forged on these cross-country tours. Gravel bike holidays at the Traminerhof always follow the call of nature away from the asphalt, true to Armin's bike motto: "Downhill on tarred or forest roads is pointless destruction of altitude metres." Even after all these years, the 2,000-metre climb to the Roen is still Armin's favourite tour - the Montiggl Lakes and the 100 hairpin bend tour are also at the top of his top 10 list. The hotel manager is primarily interested in sharing "this incredible feeling of success after a tour, which is simply worth every effort" with his guests. And he has been doing this since 1993 with the legendary "Biker Week" - a real Tramin evergreen.
Bike adventure meets bathing fun: during the day you can work up a sweat on your bike and then cool off in the lake or the hotel's outdoor pool. And as a reward, you can enjoy delicious Alpine-Mediterranean South Tyrolean cuisine with an ingenious gourmet concept and excellent wines from the region in the evening - this or something similar is what a day on holiday with the Pomella family looks like. And if you're looking for a role model in mountain biking or a local guide, you'll find one in Chef Armin. He has put his MTB stamp on the Traminerhof (thank goodness!) and turned it into a cool ride hotel. And the next generation is already at work - junior boss and proven bike expert Andreas has created the cool Bar62 and is constantly coming up with new ideas. You shouldn't miss out on this - so Ciao and Griaß Di in Tramin!
