Marecchia Valley

The Marecchia Valley Tour is a challenging gravel tour over 106 km with 930 metres of elevation gain that requires excellent fitness. It leads through a varied landscape with historic villages, impressive panoramas and cultural highlights.

The route begins with a sweeping view over the Marecchia Valley, where the remains of an old bridge are a reminder of the region's history. A key destination is San Leo, a spectacular medieval village perched on an imposing rock. The fortress of San Leo not only offers a fascinating history, but also a breathtaking view of the valley. Mentioned by Dante in the Divine Comedy, San Leo is one of the most historic villages in the region.

After the hills and steep stretches of road, the landscape opens up with more beautiful viewpoints over the valley. The route finally leads to Santarcangelo di Romagna, where you can enjoy a culinary stop before returning to the starting point.
